Accommodations

Please note the following basics:

  • Location: Camp is hosted/facilitated by Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp.
  • Shared Lodging: All lodging is shared, with the exception of Eagles Nest and Rocky Ridge accommodations.
  • Lemme restate what I just said above: if you’re solo, and you want a private room, your only options are Rocky Ridge and Eagle’s Nest or unused facility (won’t know that till week before camp)
  • Couples’ lodging: we do have facilities for couples and are usually able to accommodate them.
  • Private Rooms: Eagles Nest & Rocky Ridge offer a private room option. Despite the additional expense (+$150 of the listed registration fee), it is still less than the drive and hassle to stay in Woodland Park or Colorado Springs. The views are second to none!
  • Private Bath: There are no facilities with a private bath.
  • Housing Assignments & Roomate Requests: We’ll do our best to get you the lodging you want and with who you want, but with no gurrantees. If you have a roommate request, PLEASE register at the same time so the facilities you select have space for you both!
  • Terms: Unless otherwise noted, “bath” refers to toilet, sink and shower, and “linens” refers to sheets, blankets, pillows & cases, and towels.

Facility Descriptions / Links

Pleiades – We have 5 or 6 rooms; some are on the 1st floor, some on the 2nd.  The rooms are small but very nice, with two twin beds. This is a new building as of 2016. Linens are included. There are 2 shower rooms and 2 toilet & sink rooms on each floor. All are shared irrespective of gender.

Eagles Nest – This vacation house has 3 bedrooms, a loft, living area, kitchen and large deck. While nice with a beautiful view of Pikes Peak Massif, it is over a mile away from the main camp and quite a way uphill, so you will want to commute with your vehicle. The roads are fine going up there but if you’re nervous on mountain roads, this isn’t for you. Linens are included. There is a room with a toilet & sink and another room with a toilet & shower.

Rocky Ridge – This vacation house has 3 bedrooms, a loft, living area, kitchen and large deck. While nice with a beautiful view of of the Collegiate Peaks to the West, it is over a mile away from the main camp and quite a way uphill, so you will want to commute with your vehicle. The roads are fine going up there but if you’re nervous on mountain roads, this isn’t for you. Linens are included. There is a room with a toilet & sink and another room with a toilet & shower.

Aspen Apartment – This apartment has 3 bedrooms with two twin beds in each room.  There’s a sitting/living area and a kitchenette. There will be classes held in the living room during the day; if you’re napping, you’ll be able to close your door and hopefully enjoy the music. Linens are included. Space is generally held for couples or any two campers who want to share a room. There are two bathrooms with toilet, sink & shower.

Chalet – You’ll be housed with 1-4 other like-minded (meaning intelligent and interesting) people of your gender. You can either bring your own linens or rent them from RMMC for the week. In most cases, you’ll walk from your lodging to a nearby bathhouse. However, if you’re in Jungfrau, there’s 2 1/2 bathrooms with a toilet & sink inside.

Chalet (Aspen Lower) – Each room has a double bed and a separate twin bed. We generally hold these for couples or any two people who want to share a room. A women’s shared bath adjoins each room while men who stay there walk to the next door men’s bathhouse. However, lets offer grace to anyone (female/male) that needs to use the toilet in the middle of the night.

Rustic Cabin – You’ll be housed with 1-4 other like-minded (meaning intelligent and interesting) people of your gender. You can either bring your own linens or rent them from RMMC for the week. In most cases, you’ll walk from your lodging to a nearby bathhouse.

Campsite – There are 8 campsites.  Most will accommodate 20’ RVs, some slightly larger. There’s electricity at 7 sites, and two water spigots; depending on which site you’re in, you’ll want to bring up to 100’ of hose with a Y connector. You can use your camper’s facilities or walk to the men’s or women’s bathhouses nearby. There’s no dump station at the RMMC.

Commuting – You’ll be staying somewhere away from the RMMC, such as Mueller State Park, your own home, or a hotel (minimum 20-minute drive). For my money, it ain’t worth it because it’s more fun hanging at the camp than driving.  But it’s your call. We would rather have you come as a commuter then not come at all!

The coolest promotional video we could ever do – because we didn’t have to do it. One of our campers, who prefers to remain anonymous, did it for us after our 2011 camp.
